Partnership with Kohl’s helps enhance mental and behavioral health services
Kohl’s has been a long-standing supporter of Children’s Wisconsin, and is committed to making a positive difference in the health and wellness of families in Wisconsin. The Kohl’s team believes that healthy communities support healthy families. Kohl’s stepped forward early on to support our commitment to improve access to mental and behavioral health services. Their $5 million donation supports the expansion of school-based mental and behavioral health services, universal screening, and a public-facing initiative to help families and educators understand the importance and availability of mental and behavioral health services for children.
Since 2000, Kohl’s and Kohl’s Cares have donated and committed more than $20 million to Children’s Wisconsin. In addition to supporting the expansion of and access to mental and behavioral health services, Children’s Wisconsin partners with Kohl’s Cares on a program called Mission: Healthy Kids. The program raises awareness about the impact of nutrition and physical activity on children’s development, ability to learn and emotional well-being.
“The pandemic has brought a great deal of uncertainty and unforeseen challenges for families, and it can be incredibly difficult to navigate without a support network,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief executive officer. “It has never been more important to support our local community and provide increased access to mental and behavioral health services that support a child’s holistic wellbeing.”
“We are so thankful that Kohl’s believes in our vision that Wisconsin kids will be the healthiest in the nation — physically, mentally, and socially,” said Peggy Troy, president and CEO of Children’s Wisconsin.
We’re excited about the progress we’ve already made and everything we’re yet to accomplish with Kohl’s. They have stepped up as a true leader of the health and well-being of Wisconsin kids and families.
